Skills

I have a thorough understanding of:

• the processes involved in producing published material
• what a house style is, having produced one for a publishing department
• what a design specification is, having liaised with the desk-top publishing team in a publishing department
• how to deal with and avoid a number of problems of page make-up which can arise in proofs
• how to use the appropriate BSI marks

I also have a high level of tact and judgement and would not make expensive changes at proof stage or override the author's style or the house style if it was not to my liking.
